*Clears throat* If you are reading this you are probably very aware that one of the most important days of the year is around the corner – Sunday, May 8th aka Mother’s Day. This is the day we celebrate all of the special women in our life who are mothers, whether they be our own mother (living or no longer with us), Like-a-Mothers, the mother of our children, or friends who are mothers. Needless to say, one day is not nearly enough to celebrate these amazing moms in our life. To facilitate here are South Key Management’s recommendations for a unique and fun-filled Mother’s Day in Savannah.
Cooking classes are always such a fun way to spend time together, learn a new skill or hone in on existing skills. On Sunday May 8th, the Mansion on Forsyth Park is offering a cooking class set especially for this MOMentous occasion: Mother’s Day Brunch Cooking Class. With dishes like Mediterranean frittata, shrimp bisque, roasted tenderloin, and even special desserts, it is sure to be a tasty experience for all!

A completely unique experience for Mother’s Day is checking out the new Cirque Du Soleil show: Crystal. Crystal is the first show of its kind, blending the circus and figure skating. Throughout the show, you will be taken on a journey full of acrobatics and aerial feats, all done on the ice. Catch the show at Enmarket Arena between Thursday May 5th and Sunday May 8th.

For a low key, music filled Mother’s Day, consider checking out Deas Guyz during their regular Sunday evening shows at the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head, SC. Formed in 2000, the group features a blend of everything from Motown to Blues to Pop to Reggae. You can see the early show at 6:30 and grab dinner after, or if you are a night owl you may enjoy the late show at 9pm.
There is a $15 cover and you can make a reservation here.
Perhaps Mom is more intrigued by the finer things in life – art. Stop by the Grand Bohemian Gallery on Sunday to see Ronald Martinez’s hand-blown glass creations. Ronald Martinez is originally from Metter, Georgia. He studied glass blowing in college and in Seattle before coming to Savannah and opening Hostess City Hot Glass in 2018. The exhibit is free and open to the public all day between 10am and 6pm. Eat breakfast before or grab lunch after at a restaurant downtown.
Spring is always a great time to visit Savannah, especially to celebrate something special like Mother’s Day.
