5 Fun Events in Savannah this April

Spring has sprung and Savannah is enjoying warm weather, green grass, and blooming flowers all over the city. It is the perfect time to plan a visit, especially with these fun April events coming up! And of course, let’s not forget Easter is in early April so there are even a few family-friendly events to take advantage of. 

Here are five events happening in Savannah this April. 

1- Spring Festival – April 2^nd

Drive 25 minutes to Skidaway Island State Park on Sunday, April 2^nd for the Annual Spring Festival. Shop local vendors and try some delicious food trucks while enjoying the warm weather and the beautiful scenery. The festival is open to everyone including families and dogs from 11 am to 3 pm.

Skidaway Island State Park charges an admission fee of $5 per vehicle.

2 - Easter Bunny Hunt - April 7^th

On Friday before Easter Sunday from 3-4 pm head an hour out to Fort McAllister State Park where campers and non-campers can participate in the Easter Bunny Hunt! The Easter Bunny is missing, but he hid a bunch of eggs all over the park. Help find the Easter Bunny by collecting eggs. There is even a prize for the first person who finds the Easter Bunny! 

This event is free for those camping at Fort McAllister and $5 for non-campers (per vehicle).

3 - Easter Egg Decorating – April 8^th 

Another family-friendly event at Fort McAllister State Park (an hour from Savannah), is the Easter Egg Decorating. On Saturday, April 8^th from 2-3:30 pm, you can participate in egg decoration with the rangers. It is a BOYE (bring your own eggs) event, but they will have some dye, paint, and other accessories to help create Easter eggcellence. 

This event is free for those camping at Fort McAllister and $5 for non-campers (per vehicle).

4- Tour of Hidden Gardens – April 14^th and 15^th

The Garden Club of Savannah is once again hosting a tour of hidden gardens in Savannah. You can walk through some of the private gardens in the area North of Gaston Street with iron-work, fig vines, shrubbery, and unusual plants. You will be transported to another world! 

Garden tour guests are also invited to Southern Tea and tour at the Green-Meldrim House.

5- Savanna Bananas Games 

The Savannah Bananas are the local exhibition baseball team that mixes the game of baseball with dance and laughs! The Savannah Banana games are high-energy and always provide lots of entertainment for the fans. In April, there are several chances to see them play at home:
