The Space
This home was built at the turn of the century and combined the popular federal design with aspects of antebellum and colonial styles. Beautifully kept through the years, the home still features original wood flooring, an original fireplace, and original hand-crafted crown modeling. Built on the grounds of the original Trustees’ Garden, this historic area of Savannah has played a significant role in Savannah’s history. First as an experimental garden, then as various military forts and Ironworks, and now as an incredible combination of beautiful venues. You are genuinely staying atop Savannah’s history with a stay at The Cottage. Embark on your stay by entering the cottage through a private entrance nestled in a garden space filled with greenery and brick-laying paths. Directly inside, step into the dining and kitchen space. In the dining area is a table set for four, accented by abundant natural light from surrounding windows. Take the short hallway to the galley kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, custom oak cabinets, and everything you need to cook. Pots, pans, kitchen utensils, dishware, and small appliances ensure the kitchen is ready for a short or extended stay. Walk along the original hardwood floors to the living room featuring high ceilings, oversized windows, a large love seat, and reading chairs. Custom features are everywhere, including a crystal chandelier, crown modeling, and original fireplaces. From the living room, enter the main ensuite through double French doors. The suite incorporates style and comfort, featuring a new queen mattress with comfortable linens to guarantee a restful stay. Off the suite is The Cottage’s single bathroom. Find a pedestal sink, shower/tub combination, and all the essentials, including toilet paper, towels, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer. Are you working remotely during your stay? High-speed WIFI supports videoconferencing and multitasking. Host tip? Enjoy your coffee on the back porch taking in the subtle sounds of Savannah and the wind blowing through the old-growth trees surrounding the property.
