Constructed in 1891 and believed to be one of the four remaining residential structures designed by the renowned architect Alfred S. Eichberg, this unit is truly a piece of Savannah's history. Originally born in New York, Eichberg moved to Georgia and was commissioned on notable structures, including the Telfair Hospital, New Hanover County Courthouse (NC), and Eichberg Hall of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Known for his Romanesque revival style of design, you’ll find incredible detail and architectural aspects throughout the Alfred Inn. Located on the mid-level of the entire residential home that is now a quad-plex, the unit provides a spacious design, high ceilings, and historic touches with fresh modern updates. The entire space is set up for your use! Please feel free to enjoy the rear deck/balcony just be sure to keep noise levels to a minimum from 10 PM - 8 AM. You may park one vehicle in the rear parking area behind the building (kindly stay on the left side).

From your door, the southern portion of Forsyth Park is just a 2-minute walk. On your way, grab a delicious cup of coffee at the Sentient Bean or Alexander’s Bistro, featuring fair trade coffee and lattes. Need a breakfast bite to start your day? Pick up some great American-style breakfast with a retro feel at Betty Bombers Diner. Looking for a sandwich and a pint? Stroll on down to the Black Rabbit, a small yet incredible sandwich shop by day and pub by night. Need a taco fix? Try out Bull Street Tacos for scratch-made Mexican dishes. This is part of a quadplex, so please be courteous to your neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum from 10 PM - 8 AM. Absolutely no parties. Only the number of guests listed on the reservation is permitted at the property. No illicit activities, peddling, or soliciting are allowed on the property. Do not smoke on the property or near the home. Clean up all smoke butts. Must be 21 years of age to drink alcohol. Report all damaged property to the property owner immediately. Treat the apartment with respect, as if it were your own property.
Getting Around
Are you driving into town? You may park (one vehicle) in the rear yard behind the house. Parking on the street out front is free. Be mindful of signs as parking does rotate for street cleaning. Getting around is easy with walkable streets, bike rentals, and Uber/Lyft service. Jump on Savannah’s public transit system with the Abercorn and Park SB just a 2-minute walk from the home. This free DOT trolley circulates downtown and provides ample stops at all the major attractions. Want more options?
